This is my Daily Preschool Report. You can print the daily report to give to your parents, show your parents what a fun day their child is having in your daycare. There is also an infant and toddler daily report that you can print out and use as often as needed in your daycare.

Now that you have decided to start your own daycare you need to think about making a parents handbook, making a contract, advertising your daycare, making a weekly food menu, making a daily schedule to just name a few of the forms you will need.

With daycare needs increasing now is the time to start your own daycare business. You need to be prepared with the right type of forms. You will save money and time with my daycare forms. You can print them right from your computer as you need more forms. You will not have to waste hours trying to think of how to make your own forms.

Many experts expect the demand of daycare to increase as more mothers with young children are forced to find jobs outside the home. Part of this is due to the economy, and sadly, to the high divorce rate, which means mothers who may have stayed at home and cared for their children must now seek a job to pay their bills. You will want to have some nice posters to hang around town and let parents know you are starting a daycare.

I have been in the Daycare Business for over 12 years now. I have slowly seen the increase of child care rising. Most daycares in my area are full with a waiting list. Most home daycares now do not take infants. Infant care is almost impossible to find. Parents needing evening or week end care will have a hard time locating that type of child care. Daycare providers offering infant care, night time care or weekend care can charge more for this type of care since it is pretty much non existent from most home daycare providers. You will want to place some ads to locate children for your daycare. I have some daycare ads listed in my daycare forms for you to use to get calls from parents for your daycare.

I started out watching two children while I was in the process of getting licensed. You will need to decide if you want to be a licensed where you can watch up to 6 to 12 children. Or, if you want to just watch two children not including your own children with no license at all. You need to first check with your local licensing agency to see how many children you can watch without a license. This number is usually two. But all states are different. Most parents feel more comfortable going with someone who is licensed than with someone who isn't. Getting a license can be a long and stressful procedure. With my daycare forms you will have one less thing to worry about. You will have all the forms, handbooks, contracts, permission slips, brochures, posters, daily schedules, menus, etc that you will need.

Before you start your daycare it is a good idea to have forms for the parent's to sign, forms for taking the children on field trips, in your car for errands, medical emergency forms, plus others. You can print out all the forms your daycare will need from my website or down load the forms to your computer or onto a CD. You will need a handbook going over all your policies and procedures. I have a well written parent's hand book, my handbook is 17 pages long, it covers everything from the forms the children need to have filled out to begin daycare then explains the trial period to fees that I charge along with making sure parents know I charge for holidays that I do not work, and I require a one weeks deposit, plus it goes into my sick policy and onto late pick up and so many other important issues. My handbook can be edited to fit the needs of your daycare.

I print my hand book cover out onto card stock paper and then print the rest of the pages onto copy paper. I place another piece of card stock paper onto the back of the parents handbook and then staple up the left hand side.

You will also want the parents to sign a contract. I have a contract you can use or edit for your daycare needs. My contract covers a lot of important issues such as how much each parent will pay each week regardless if their chid attends or not, it points out they will pay for holidays when you are not open, plus it explains that you will need a one weeks deposit for their child and that they may pay this over so many weeks if they can not afford to pay it all at once. It is so important to get that deposit. This way if they decide to switch daycares you will have that one or two weeks deposit. You can have parents pay an extra 10.00 each week until you have the deposit if they can not afford to pay it all at once. My hand book and contract concentrant on many important issues. You want a really good contract and hand book so there are not conflicts later down the road.

You will need to figure out how much to charge for the children you will be watching. I have a copy of my daycare rate chart in my forms. You can print it out and see what I am charging to give you some ideas on the current rates. Each state and different areas have different rates. You will need to check around to see what is the current rate in your area is.

Once you get licensed you will need to start attracting customers! I have two posters you can print out and add your phone number to the bottom of the posters. I also have a really nice brochure you can print out and pass out to prospective clients. Plus you will get copies of my daycare ads I have placed in the newspaper to help give you some idea's on advertising in your newspaper. If you look over to the left hand side of this web page you will see a copy of my posters and my brochure.

My hand book has a lot of information. If parents realize ahead of time what your rules and procedures are then you can stop some conflicts before they start. Once they read through your handbook they will have a greater understanding of your philosophies and what your rules are. My handbook goes over everything from being early or late. If I open at 7 am I do not want children showing up at 630 am. My handbook covers other issues such as a sick child, holidays, toilet training, bounced checks, late payment, and so much more. You will get my parents hand book in the daycare forms along with my contract. You can edit the parents hand book to change the hours the prices etc.

Keeping your records straight can be a nightmare. You need good bookkeeping forms to help you organize your daycare records. I have some really nice bookkeeping forms to keep you organized.

You also need to organize your daycare records for each of the children. If a child gets hurt you don't want to be looking for the children's records or phone numbers when an emergency comes up. It's best to have a file folder for each child. You want to know where everything is at all times. You can print out my emergency phone numbers forms and list all the children and their phone numbers on this form and post it near the phone.

When the licensor comes to your house you want to be able to produce the children's records and have them all up to date. You do not want to be running all over the house looking for them. Your states licensor can pop in at least once a year and you won't know when their coming.

"Quality daycare's" have learning centers or area's set up for the children. These centers don't have to be anything big just a small area where you will keep some books, and another area where you will keep some blocks. If you notice most of the time that the children crawl up on the couch to look at books then place a few books in a small stand by the couch and this will become your book center. Most daycares have a block center, art center, music center, book center, dramatic play center plus others. I have included some center signs for you to print out and place through out your house to show where your book area, art area, block area, dramatic play area are located.

You will want a daily schedule to try and keep your day on track. If the children know what to expect they are a lot happier. I will be including my Daily Schedule to give you idea's about when you will serve meals, read stories, do art, go outside, put the children down for naps, etc.

Space is limited. Some daycares even have one-year waiting lists or longer. Let your love for children and your dream to be your own boss become a reality. Start your own new, exciting career. "Newly Opening Daycare Has Openings!!" That could be your ad running in tomorrow’s paper. You will get samples of ads that I have I have placed in the newspaper and had all my spots filled within 5 days!! Some ads don't catch parents eyes if their are other daycare ads running at the same time. You want your ad to STAND OUT! Grab their attention and get them to call you first! Make sure you sound confident and professional when you receive phone calls from potential customers. Keep you rate sheet taped by the phone or on a clip board. You will get a copy of my rate sheet to print out. You will want to have some idea of what you area charging when parents call you. My rate sheet is included in my daycare forms. You can edit my rate sheet and change the prices to fit the needs of your daycare. Just print it out and have it handy for when the parents start calling you.

Opening and running a daycare is just like any other business. You need to keep accurate records. The state inspector comes once or twice a year to check your home and property. You need to have records on all your children and all the forms need to be up to date! Protect yourself and the children in your care by using the the correct authorization and permission forms.
